I am a 1975 graduate of the  University of Kentucky  in Lexington, Kentucky with a BA in Education. I completed a certificate course in paralegal studies at Trident Technical College in 2002. In August 2004, I received my Masters in Library and Information Science from  The College of Library and Information Science  at the University of South Carolina. I finished a Master Degree in Education in Technology from Lesley University in 2009.

I worked as a volunteer in the school library for six years. Beginning in 2001, I worked for Trident Academy part time for three years. I became the full time librarian in August 2004.

I am a member of the American Library Association (ALA), South Carolina Association of School Librarians (SCASL), Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA), and Phi Theta Kappa Honorary Society.
