Welcome to Hurricane Central! Hurricanes are severe tropical storms. They may form in the southern Atlantic Ocean, Carribean Sea, Gulf of Mexico or in the eastern Pacific Ocean. Hurricanes are given names and are classified into categories based on wind speed and potential to cause damage. In this activity, you will learn how hurricanes are formed, categorized, and tracked.
