Task

You live on the South Carolina Coastline where every year we are in danger of experiencing a hurricane. Hurricanes are big storms that stretch over hundreds of miles. How does a hurricane form? How do we know one is heading our way? You will find the answer to these and more in our web quest.

You will be given several Internet resources to help you with your research. You will work both in groups and individually for this project. Your task is divided into three stages.

First Stage:

In your assigned group, you will learn how a hurricane forms, the categories, and how they are named.

Second stage:

Each member from your group will learn about hurricane tracking charts.

Third stage:

Working with your group, you will learn how to prepare for a hurricane.
