We will read Nory Ryan's Song in class. This story is about a young Irish girl who lives in Ireland during the Great Potato Famine.  The story is the tale of her struggles in her homeland and her family's desire to immigrate to America.

The sequel to Nory Ryan's Song is Maggie's Door.  This story is about Nory's and Sean's separate voyages to America.  Read it for more tales about the two brave childrens' trips from Ireland to the United States.
